Types of massage;

Remedial Massage

Utilises specialised techniques of manual therapy on the soft tissue in the body. The purpose of remedial massage is to produce therapeutic effects upon the nervous, muscular and circulatory systems of the body. Your therapist will tailor a massage based on your symptoms and movement patterns in order to best attain positive results with treatment.

Sports Massage

Sports massage follows the pathway of Remedial massage however the techniques used aim to release the deeper muscle fibres in the body. Occasionally referred to as deep tissue massage, treatment isn’t necessarily ‘relaxing’ as it is manifested for either injury rehabilitation, individuals with heavy training schedules or generally for those who prefer a firm massage.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a combination of stretching and soft-tissue manipulation. Coupling the two techniques is optimal to release the network of fasica (connective tissue) that links body parts to each other. Once the body has responded to the therapy, the release in tension allows for increased biomechanical function, flexibility and mobility of muscles, fascia and joints.
